Reasons
to Consider Counselling

Since you have come
this far, you are probably deciding whether it's time to
get some outside help. I believe I can help you get
oriented. I'd like to suggest that you have two decisions
to make:
- Whether or not
to get involved in counselling, and
- Whether to go
to face-to-face or to try online counselling.
I have come up with
a few things you may want to consider to help you make
the first decision:
- Do
you want to get an objective point of view to
help sort out problems, difficulties, decisions,
or losses?
- Have
you experienced unwanted life changes and found
that your usual coping skills are not working?
- Do
you feel it's time to work through (rather than
around) past hurts, relationships, or negative
life situations?
- Are
you looking for information and resources so that
you can deal with your personal concerns in other
ways?
- Maybe
nothing is wrong at all! Maybe you want to be all
you can be, and want a professional to assist you
in the journey toward healthy personal growth.
- Are
you concerned about issues that are too intimate
to discuss with friends and family?
- Have
you tried to help yourself but the problem is
still there?
Self help books,
support groups and workshops can be very beneficial, but
sometimes a personal, one-on-one approach is needed.
Caring professionals can help you to find the solutions
that will work for you.
If you're nodding
your head so far, then your next decision is whether to
go to face-to-face or to try online counselling. Lawrence will share (click here) some of his thoughts with
you that compare the two.
